Daviess County Visitor’s Bureau appoints Debbie Goodwin as new executive director
WASHINGTON — The Daviess County Visitor’s Bureau has announced a transition in its leadership, naming Debbie Goodwin as the organization’s new executive director. Goodwin officially stepped into the role on January 19, following the departure of Amber Warden.
Goodwin succeeds former director Amber Warden, who is stepping down as her family prepares to relocate out of state. Tourism officials expressed confidence in the appointment, noting that Goodwin’s deep roots in the community and her extensive background in local governance make her a natural fit for the position.
A longtime resident of Daviess County, Goodwin brings a wealth of institutional knowledge to the Bureau. Her professional background includes eight years of service as a member of the Tourism Commission Board and over a decade of experience working within the Daviess County Auditor’s Office.
Goodwin is also an active local realtor and a frequent volunteer for several civic and community organizations.
“We look forward to continuing our efforts to promote the unique events and attractions that make Daviess County a destination,” tourism officials stated in a recent release.
Under Goodwin’s leadership, the Bureau aims to strengthen its marketing of local landmarks and seasonal festivals that drive economic growth in the region. Her dual experience in finance and tourism is expected to provide a strategic edge in managing the Bureau’s promotional budgets and community partnerships.
