Mitchell Community Public Library wraps up a record-setting 2025
MITCHELL – The Mitchell Community Public Library closed out 2025 with a year of strong community engagement, growing collections, and busy programming, according to its annual year-in-review summary.
During 2025, 32,450 people visited the library, with 4,443 attendees participating in 113 library programs and events offered throughout the year. The library continued to expand its collection, adding 2,892 new items, and saw heavy use of both physical and digital materials. Patrons checked out 38,545 physical items and 15,198 digital items, reflecting continued demand for a wide range of reading, learning, and entertainment options.
The library also welcomed 327 new library card holders, highlighting ongoing interest from residents of all ages. Library staff thanked the community for its support and enthusiasm, noting that the strong numbers reflect how deeply the library is woven into daily life in Mitchell.
With 2025 wrapped up, the Mitchell Community Public Library is looking ahead to an even bigger 2026, encouraging residents to invite friends to programs, explore new materials, and sign up for a library card to help continue the momentum.
