Martin County Alliance announces 2026 Facade Grant program; Applications now open
LOOGOOTEE — Property owners in Martin County have a golden opportunity to refresh their storefronts this year. The Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth has officially opened the application window for its 2026 Facade Grant Program, which aims to revitalize commercial districts across the county.
The program offers a 1-to-1 matching grant of up to $4,000, providing a financial boost for those looking to invest in the curb appeal and structural integrity of their business properties.
To qualify, commercial properties must be located within the city or town limits of Crane, Loogootee, and Shoals.
The Alliance has outlined a broad range of eligible exterior improvements. While simple window replacements must be part of a larger project to qualify, other approved upgrades include:
| Structural & Decorative | Signage & Access |
| Masonry and brick repair | New signage and awnings |
| Professional painting | Entrance door upgrades |
| Restoration of architectural features | Decorative exterior details |
Strengthening Local Communities
The primary goal of the grant is two-fold: to assist individual property owners with maintenance costs and to enhance the collective aesthetic of Martin County’s business corridors. A more vibrant downtown is often associated with increased foot traffic and stronger local economic health.
The clock is ticking for interested parties. The absolute deadline to submit an application is Friday, February 27, 2026.
