WASHINGTON D.C.–  Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales recently met with members of the Indiana National Guard to personally thank them for their service and dedication, while attending the 2026 National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Conference.

During the visit, Secretary Morales was honored to spend time speaking with National Guard members and expressing his appreciation for their commitment to protecting our nation and fellow Hoosiers. As an Indiana National Guard Veteran himself, Morales emphasized how meaningful it was to meet with service members and thank them for their continued sacrifice.

“I was happy to discuss our new office initiative to make it easier for our men and women in uniform on deployment to securely vote in elections, wherever they may be. As a veteran, I know firsthand what it means to serve.  Taking the time to meet with our Hoosier heroes and thanking them personally was incredibly important to me. These men and women put their lives on the line to protect our citizens, and they deserve our gratitude and respect,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State.

The 2026 NASS Conference brought together Secretaries of State from across the country to collaborate on strengthening election integrity, improving government services, and sharing best practices to better serve citizens nationwide.

“It’s always valuable to join my colleagues from across the nation at NASS.  These conversations allow us to learn from one another and bring new ideas back to Indiana so we can continue serving Hoosiers with integrity and excellence,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State.
