The investigation was launched on Thursday, January 22, after a parent and student reported inappropriate conduct to administrators at Washington Junior High. In response to the allegations, school officials confirmed that Armstrong was immediately terminated and is no longer affiliated with the district.

Following the initial report, Washington Police detectives interviewed students who were present in the classroom where the alleged behavior occurred. Parents were notified in advance that detectives would be on-site for these conversations.

The investigation led to a search warrant for Armstrong’s residence. According to authorities, items were seized during the search, and those items were transported to the Knox County Cyber Crimes Unit for analysis.

Based on a report sent to the Daviess County Prosecutor’s Office, an arrest warrant was officially issued. Police located Armstrong today, and he was arrested without incident.

Armstrong currently faces charges of performing a sexual act in the presence of a minor and public indecency.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
