North Lawrence Water Authority announces annual meeting and board elections
BEDFORD — The North Lawrence Water Authority has scheduled its Annual Meeting and election for the Board of Directors for Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The event serves as a critical opportunity for local residents to help shape the leadership of their utility provider.
The election will fill director positions for three specific service areas:
- District 4: Covering Logan Bottoms, Mt. Pleasant, McFadden Ridge, and the Peerless area.
- District 5: Representing Guthrie, Chapel Hill, Coveyville, and the State Road 446 corridor.
- District 6: Serving Patton Hill, Avoca, East Oolitic, Breckenridge, and the Broomsage Road area.
Candidate Requirements
Residents interested in running for a board seat must live within the district they wish to represent. Prospective candidates must follow these steps to qualify:
- Pick Up a Packet: Election packets are available at the North Lawrence Water Authority office.
- Gather Signatures: Candidates in Districts 4, 5, and 6 must obtain 20 signatures from members residing within their specific district.
- Submission Deadline: Completed forms must be returned to the office no later than 3:30 p.m. on March 31, 2026.
Voting and Meeting Schedule
Voting will take place on April 21st at the Maintenance Building located at 116 Bailey Scales Road in Bedford. Voting polls will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. The annual meeting will follow the polls closing.
The Annual Meeting will commence once the polls close, during which votes will be tallied and the new directors will be officially selected.
